SEA is looking for community member volunteers who would be willing to be a part of the SEA School Forest Committee. The main purpose of the committee is to support the growth, development, and use of the SEA School Forest. Meetings and activities will address a variety of topics such as:
● Maintaining the forest - ex. Implementing woodland stewardship plan, site enhancements
● Planning events - ex. seedling planting, buckthorn removal
● Supporting staff in using the school forest - ex. Organizing grab-and-go activity kits
● Ensuring appropriate funding - ex. applying for grants, fundraising
● Keeping school forest history and records
● Communicating with the public about the school forest
● Recruiting new committee members when members move on
