Parents For Student Success

Dear families of SEA,

My name is Tristan Yang, School Climate and Culture Specialist at SEA. I want to extend an invitation to join and participate in our newly formed parent group, "Parents for student success" This group intends to bring together parents of students of color to discuss topics such as student school experience, pursuing academic excellence, and how to navigate the school system. While this space is intended to be for parents with students of color, we are more than happy to include any parents of a student at SEA that is interested.

We all have different experiences and valuable information that we can add to the current fabric of diversity, which Robbinsdale Area School District is eager to protect and uplift. We can also share information to support other parents and families within the group.

Below you will find the tentative schedule and topics for meetings (offered both in person and virtually) through the school year.

March 14th - 1st meeting (Welcome/Intro to group/Parent tool kit/Community listening session)
April 9th - 2nd meeting (Student handbook discussion, Community listening session)
May 9th - 3rd meeting (MTSS Process, Community listening session)
*topics subject to change*
6pm-7:30pm

If you want to be included as a group member, here is the registration form

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached via phone (763-504-7259) as well as e-mail (tristan_yang@rdale.org).

I look forward to coming together,
