First Day of School Information

First Day of School:

As a reminder, our school year is starting earlier than it has in the past—before Labor Day. Because Labor Day falls later this year, many schools across the state are beginning before the holiday, which allows us to finish the school year earlier in the summer. Click on this link to view the district calendar for the school year.

Our first day of school for students in grades 1–5 will be Monday, August 31. Kindergarten students will have a different schedule to start the year.

On August 31 and September 1, kindergarten students will come to school with a parent or guardian for a one-on-one meeting with their teacher.

On Wednesday, September 2, kindergarten students whose last names begin with A–L will attend school, while students whose last names begin with M–Z will remain at home.

On Thursday, September 3, kindergarten students whose last names begin with A–L will stay home, while students whose last names begin with M–Z will attend school.

All kindergarten students will attend together beginning Friday, September 4.

Kindergarten families, you will receive a separate Welcome to Kindergarten letter in the coming week with more detailed information, including instructions for signing up for your one-on-one meeting with your child's teacher.
