Students invited to enter state art contest

All Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) students are invited to participate in this year’s Minnesota Senate art contest. The deadline for submissions is Monday, Oct. 31.

This year’s theme is My District, My Minnesota, and students in grades kindergarten through 12 can submit a drawing or photograph they feel represents life in their Senate district. One winning drawing or photograph per Senate district will be selected, and will hang in the Minnesota Senate Building for the following calendar year.

Sen. Ann Rest represents District 45, which includes the majority of Rdale, and includes the cities of New Hope, Crystal, Robbinsdale and Golden Valley. In addition, Sen. Chris Eaton, who represents District 40, includes Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, and Sen. Ann Johnson Stewart, who represents District 44, includes Plymouth.

Submissions to the My District, My Minnesota art contest should be submitted to Sen. Rest’s office. Here’s how to enter the contest:

  • Students must be enrolled in K-12 for the current school year.
  • Students may submit one drawing or photograph through Oct. 31, 2022.
  • Students can either submit their drawing/photo via email at mdmm45@senate.mn, or can mail it through the post office:

Attn: MDMM 45
Minnesota Senate Building
95 University Ave. W.
St. Paul, MN 55107

  • Please note: mailed submissions will not be returned unless expressly requested.

Minnesota Senate staff will reach out to the winning student to inform them their submission has been chosen and to arrange for proper formatting as needed.
